Surreal bluebell forest blooms in Belgium

Photo: Menno Schaefer/Shutterstock

Every spring, a fairytale-like carpet of wild bluebells engulfs the floor of the Hallerbos, a 1,360-acre forest located in Halle, Belgium. These little flowers begin to bloom just as the leafy canopy above begins to reform.

The Arctic Light

This video reminds me how time passes by silently without us noticing.
In the blink of an eye, time comes and goes and life ends before we realize...

Hug Your Cat Day!

Forget Christmas, forget your birthday, heck, forget even Shrove Tuesday, because June 4 is the best day in the entire annual diary – it’s Hug Your Cat Day.

It is the one day of the year you are encouraged to hug and cuddle your felines as much as is humanly possible, and you know what? We’re more than OK with that.

Considering cat owners are a third less likely to suffer from heart disease, we’re taking it to mean that this Wednesday is going to be incredibly stress-free. High five.

There are no words for how cute this is

Hidden miracles of the natural world

We live in a world of unseeable beauty, so subtle and delicate that it is imperceptible to the human eye. To bring this invisible world to light, filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg bends the boundaries of time and space with high-speed cameras, time lapses and microscopes.

At TED2014, he shares highlights from his latest project, a 3D film titled "Mysteries of the Unseen World," which slows down, speeds up, and magnifies the astonishing wonders of nature.

The Mission: How Great Thou Art - The Piano Guys

A wise man once said, "If we thought of life as a gift, we might not demand nearly as much from it. And if we lived more graciously, giving of ourselves more freely to the well-being of others, many of our personal concerns would disappear, and life would become easier for all."

"We’ve set an ambitious goal to film in front of all Seven Wonders of the World. We started with the Great Wall of China (link). As our tour of Brazil approached we set our sights on our next Wonder: Christ the Redeemer. This incredible piece of art soars 10 stories in the air, stretches 100 feet wide and weighs 1.4 million pounds (630,000 kg). But even more impressive is that it was built in the 1920’s on a peak of a sheer 2,300 ft. (700 meter) cliff overlooking Rio de Janeiro."
